About Me

My name is Lana (Svetlana) Kelleher. I am a BACP Member and I am on their Voluntary Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. The Register is approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care and it provides assurance to clients that the counsellor offers a high standard of quality care.

Originally a Romanian national, I was brought up in Bucharest where I was a teacher of English and a translator and interpreter before settling in the UK with my English family. In England, while a volunteer with the Samaritans, I retrained as a counsellor  and psychotherapist.

I have the following qualifications:

  • Diploma in Person Centred Counselling at Chichester University,
  • INALPTA Diploma in NLP Counselling,
  • Certificate in Counselling Skills at Chichester University,
  • Certificate in Personal Coaching,
  • Training in Assessment of Clients.
  • Advanced Post Diploma Certificate in Couple Counselling
  • CBT Diploma, Regent’s University, London

I gained a wide range of experience working as a senior counsellor in a general counselling agency as well as in my private practice. I have worked with clients referred by GP surgeries, NHS or various associations and charities as well as self-referrals.

Therapy is not static. New ways of working with clients are discovered all the time. I always keep in touch with new psychotherapy approaches and integrate them into my practice.

I am committed to continuously increase, deepen and expand my knowledge and skills by attending professional training workshops, courses and conferences.

I am regularly supervised and have full PI insurance. My counselling service is strictly confidential and I follow the BACP Professional Code of Conduct, Good Practice and Ethical Framework.

Apart from carrying out my work in English, I also offer sessions in Romanian. Daca aveti nevoie de un psihoterapeut, puteti apela la serviciile mele de counselling si psihoterapie in Chichester.
